Florida Hawks Futbol Club (Florida Hawks FC) is pleased to announce that Meredith Romano will join the Board of Directors as a Member at Large. Romano, who has lived in FishHawk since 2007, joins the board after four seasons coaching recreation teams and experience as an Age Group Representative (AGR) for the Club. 

“I am very excited to be joining the Board at such an exciting time in the Club,” said Romano. “My goal is to use my love of the game and experience as a player and parent to make Hawks FC a great soccer home for all of our community’s families.” 

Soccer is a family affair for Romano who played at a club and high school level in her youth. Her daughter Marissa plays for the Hawks U12 TARSA team, her son Ryan plays for the U9/10 recreation team, and her husband AJ, who is a Hall of Fame leading goal scorer for the University of North Florida’s soccer team, coaches recreation teams and has played in the Hawks Men’s League. 

“My dad was my coach from a young age and inspired me to be involved in soccer not only for my own kids but also for our community,” said Romano, who is also very active on the PTA at Bevis Elementary and owns her own business, Sunny and 85, an online gift and accessory boutique. 

Due to her experience in the area, Romano’s role on the board will mostly focus on the recreation program. 

“I am very excited to have Board of Directors member with Meredith’s passion and focus on the Recreation program,” said Hawks President of the Board Joe Savino.
